So, I have been working as an intern at a start up company. I\'m graduating this spring and still have no job. Since the job I\'ve been engaging in is fun and exciting, I might stay as an intern or a part time worker if not permanent. Although I am very interested in a career in the web, I majored in English and not very familiar with the technical stuff. Currently I\'ve been editing their blog, translating the website, and doing some customer support. Would it be possible to get a permanent job out of the experience I get through the current position? If so, how many years of experience should it be? Or, is there any way for to turn this into a permanent job? |

| ANo.2 | Have you thought of bringing this up with your employer, especially if you show some initiative such as taking a course in web design (which varies with different levels of difficulty - HTML, Java, ASP programming). It's kind of like me wanting to teach english in japan, a TESL course behind your belt is always good. if you make the effort, little can stop you. Japan's views and perspectives are changing as well, keep yourself highly sought after. |

| ANo.1 | In which country do you work? I think whether you get a full-time position after working as an intern or a par-time depends on how business is run in each country. I am from Japan. I have also lived in the States. So I'm going to speak out of these experiences. I have seen interns get a permanent position in both Japanese company and American company. I believe that if you keep working hard at what you're given to do now, there is always a way to get where you want to be. Wish you a good luck!!! |

| Additional Comments | I work in Japan. The thing is, in this country most of the time you have to be "fresh" out of college to get hired for an entry level position. So, in case I keep doing this until the time I graduate and not get hired as a regular employee at this company, I fear I get no permanent job anywhere. Thank you anyways!! |
