This is the most common and fairly polite spoken way, I think.

My recommended phrase

今、一番人気がある男性の髪型はどんな髪型でしょうか?
================================


When you ask someone by saying “何ですか?”、you are most likely not supposed to get the desired answer, as the other side might not have correct answer or even small idea. When you ask someone by saying “どんな髪型でしょうか?”, he/she may have her/his own wider option in answer either precisely or just roughly from general idea.

On the other hand, if you are in hair beauty business and talking about the men’s hair style with someone in the same business, you are using almost correct Japanese.

I use 現在 for spoken language too.

In fasion magazine, it often says 今流行りの（はやりの)ヘアースタイルは〜。。。

It makes sense, but I think you're missing の.
現在、一番人気のある男性の髪型は何ですか？
Also, if you're saying this sentence to someone, you might want to use
今 or 最近 instead of 現在, since 現在 is not used in the spoken language too often.
